Product Card Mapping
Configure Product Card Mapping in Unbxd Recommendations: set hero image, title, price, variant and meta fields for algorithm, experience and website previews.
Overview
Product Card Mapping (PCM) allows retailers to customize how product cards appear in Recommendations previews by selecting the product attributes to display. It provides a consistent card experience across Search and Recs. These changes apply only to console previews and do not affect the live storefront.
Set Up Product Card Mapping
Recommendation PCM is configured from the Recs console. Follow the steps below to do so:
- Navigate to Manage > Catalog > Product Card Mapping.
- Set the hero image size and title fields.
- Map variant fields, or skip them if the retailer has no variants.
- Map price, image URL, and up to five meta fields.
- Save, then check the cards in the Recs previews.
Configurable Fields
Each card is built from the following fields.
| Setting | What it controls | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Hero image size | Size of the main image on the card | Small, Medium, Large |
| Parent title | Catalog field used as the product title | Any parent field |
| Variant title | Catalog field used as the variant title | Any variant field; can be skipped |
| Price | Field shown as price | Any field |
| Variant visibility | Whether variants show on the card | On / Off |
| Image URL | Attribute used for the hero image | Supports Add prefix |
| Variant image URL | Attribute used for variant images | Supports Add prefix |
| Meta fields | Extra attributes shown on the card | Up to 5 |
Add prefixSome retailers send image URLs as relative paths, without the root domain (for example
/images/123.jpginstead ofhttps://www.example.com/images/123.jpg).Click Add prefix and enter the root domain. The console joins the prefix and the path to load the image in previews.
Where the Mapping Applies
One mapping applies to all three Recs previews
- Algorithm Preview
- Experience Preview
- Recommendations Website Preview.
Important Point to RememberRecs PCM is separate from Search PCM. Recs does not read the Search PCM, even when Search PCM is already configured. Completing Search PCM does not complete Recs PCM; both need to be set up.
This is deliberate. Recs merchandisers are often different people from Search merchandisers, and a separate mapping lets them configure cards for evaluating recommendations without being limited by Search settings.
